A Day of Healing, Harmony, and Humanity in Medical Camp

A heart warming blend of spirituality and service was witnessed on 6th April 2025, as Nandalila Charitables organized a comprehensive Medical Camp at the premises of Deepsikha Club, Dakshineswar, Kolkata. The day began on a sacred note at 9:00 AM, with soulful chanting and Arati with lamps, led by the devout members of the Samonnoy Committee, invoking divine blessings for a day devoted to well-being and community care. The inaugural address was gracefully delivered by Dr. Sonali Bhattacharyya, who eloquently spoke about the enlightening and inspiring path shown by Shri Shri Baba Thakur Balak Brahmachari Maharaj and Shri Shri Thakur Shunyojyoti, emphasizing that spiritual awakening is the foundation for sustaining the body, mind, and soul. Her words set the tone for a spiritually enriched day filled with compassionate service. The free medical camp featured multiple specialized sections including Eye Care, Homeopathy, Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar Check, Dental Check-up, Geriatric Care, General Medicine, Osteopathy, and Physiotherapy: each equipped with skilled doctors and enthusiastic volunteers. Some of the notable medical professionals who extended their services included: Dr. Sushmita Ghosh (Dental Car), Dr. Barun Sarkar (Homeopathy), Dr. Swapan Roy Chowdhury (Physiotherapy), Mr. Sanat Das (Sciropathy), Dr. Swapan Paul (Geriatrics), andDr. Kaustav Banerjee (Medicine & Surgery)

The seamless flow of registrations was managed by a dedicated team of volunteers. Anchoring and announcements throughout the event were conducted gracefully by Mr. Tapas Kumar Pathak. Adding a literary and spiritual touch, a book corner was set up displaying enlightening titles like Laha Pranam, Balak Brahmachari Maharajer Chotobelar Jeebonkatha, Janmasiddha Mahaner Upadesh, Tatwa Bigyan, and Tatwa Jigyasha

Felicitation Ceremony: A Gesture of Gratitude and Grace 

At the heart of the medical camp was a heartfelt felicitation ceremony, to honor the unwavering support and contribution of distinguished guests and community members. Each guest was welcomed with utmost respect and offered a traditional “Uttario” (ceremonial scarf), a memento, a sapling symbolizing growth and wellness: a thoughtful gesture expressing warmth, sustainability, and nourishment.

Honoured Guests and Their Words of Wisdom 

Mr. Tapan Chowdhuri – President of Deepsikha Club, expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the initiative. In his speech, he beautifully recalled the rich legacy of the club and emphasized how community-driven events like this medical camp continue to nurture social harmony and wellness. "It is this collective spirit," he said, "that keeps the roots of our club deep and our vision wide."

Ms. Mithu Bose – Ward Councillor, in her address, lauded the inclusive nature of the camp and stressed the importance of accessible health care in semi-urban areas. She noted, "Efforts like these not only heal bodies but restore hope. This camp is an inspiring model of what selfless service looks like."

Mr. Moloy Das – Club Member, was also recognized for his consistent dedication to social causes. In his brief but touching speech, he spoke about how service to others is a reflection of devotion to Thakur.

Mr. Sushanta Chatterjee – Councillor, felicitated by Dr. Barun Sarkar, delivered a strong message on the importance of preventive health care and awareness in local communities. He praised the multidisciplinary nature of the camp, adding, "Initiatives like this bridge the gap between medical care and the people who need it most. Let us carry this torch forward."

Mr. Nabin Mondal – Councillor, who arrived in the second half of the event, was felicitated by Dr. Sonali Bhattacharyya. In his speech, he emotionally spoke about the divine energy of Balak Brahmachari Maharaj, whose voice and teachings continue to guide thousands. "Thakur's voice echoes in every act of kindness. Today, this camp has made that echo louder," he stated.

Mr. Pallab Dutta Choudhuri – Asian Games Yoga Champion, was felicitated by Ms. Kakoli Banerjee. A true symbol of discipline and spiritual balance, he reminded everyone of the power of yoga and meditation in achieving holistic health, saying, "The union of body and mind is possible when we align with divinity, and today’s event is a beautiful example of that harmony. "Each speech was a reflection of gratitude, reverence, and resolve to continue building a society rooted in wellness, unity, and spirituality.

The felicitation of the honored guests was carried out by a dedicated and graceful team of members from the Balak Brahmachari Research Society whose reverence and hospitality reflected the true spirit of the day. The members who carried out the felicitation duties included Mrs. Manju Bhattacharyya, Mr. Bimal Das, Mr. Tapas Kumar Pathak, Dr. Sonali Bhattacharyya, Ms. Shankari Roy Chowdhury, and Ms. Kakoli Banerjee In a touching gesture, 50 gift hampers were distributed to children from the local community, each containing a T-shirt, notebook, pencil, eraser, and a biscuit packet spreading smiles and warmth among the younger ones.

The camp also garnered media attention, with Channel One arriving for coverage. Dr. Barun Sarkar and Mr. Tapas Kumar Pathak represented the organizing team and shared their insights during the live coverage. This noble initiative would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of the organizing team and volunteers including Dr. Sonali Bhattacharyya, Ratul Chakraborty, Kakoli Banerjee, Tapas Pathak, , Saptaparna Mitra,  Mousumi Ganguli, Shyamali Kundu, Mousumi Mitra, Swapan Kumar Mondal, Madhuchhanda Roy, Indrajit Kundu, Partha Ganguli, Baby Singha, Shankari Roy Chowdhury, Manju Bhattacharyya, Himanshu Dey, Rinku Pathak, Gautam Chowdhury, Asim Biswas, Abhijit Kundu, Raju Dhar, Biman Das, Tarak Majumdar, Pramod Bhowmik, Minu Das, Bimal Das, and many others whose selfless service echoed the message of universal brotherhood. A day that began with devotion and ended with health care service stands testimony to the timeless truth that "Seva is the highest form of worship.
