Airtel Blocks Over 3.5 Million Scam Attempts in Delhi-NCR With New AI-Based Fraud System

Bharti Airtel announced that its newly deployed AI-based fraud detection system has successfully safeguarded more than 3.5 million users in the Delhi-NCR region from cyber fraud and phishing attempts. The telco revealed that the system proactively intercepted millions of suspicious calls and SMS messages as part of its ongoing campaign against digital fraud.

Real-Time Blocking of Suspicious Communications
According to the company, the advanced system works in real-time by analyzing patterns in telecom traffic, identifying unusual behaviour, and blocking fraudulent calls and SMS before they reach the user. Airtel also collaborates with law enforcement and cybercrime units to further fortify the protective measures.

Integrated User Alerts and Reporting Tools
In addition to backend safeguards, Airtel has introduced user-friendly tools in its mobile app that allow customers to report suspicious messages and calls directly. It has also ramped up awareness campaigns to educate users about identifying and avoiding scams.

Part of Airtel's Broader Cybersecurity Push
This initiative is part of Airtel's broader "CyberSmart" project that aims to make mobile connectivity safer for its over 400 million subscribers. With fraud cases rising sharply across India, especially in urban and densely populated areas, Airtel's move signals a growing industry trend towards integrated digital security solutions.

User Trust a Key Priority Amid Rising Digital Threats
Airtel emphasized that ensuring customer trust in mobile communication remains its top priority. With cyber threats evolving rapidly, telecom companies are increasingly investing in AI and machine learning to combat digital fraud on a large scale.
