Australian University to Open in Greater Noida West: MoU Signed Between Yogi Government and Western Sydney University
Greater Noida West: A significant milestone is set to place Greater Noida on the global education map as Australia's renowned Western Sydney University prepares to open its first Indian campus. The campus will be established in Knowledge Park-5, Greater Noida West, on a seven-acre plot identified near D Park. This project has received approval from the Uttar Pradesh government, opening new avenues for higher education and innovation in the region.
Memorandum of Understanding Signed
During a grand ceremony held in Lucknow on Friday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar Singh and Western Sydney University's Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Deborah Sweeney, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). On the occasion, the Chief Secretary remarked, “This campus will bring global education and innovation to Uttar Pradesh. It will not only elevate the region's educational standards but also strengthen ties between India and Australia.”
A Hub of World-Class Education
This will be the first international university campus to be established in India. In its initial phase, the university plans to construct a commercial building. The campus will focus on research and innovation in areas such as smart agriculture, water management, and climate adaptation. It also aims to promote entrepreneurship and emerging industries in the state.
Global Recognition
Ranked among the top 50 universities globally, Western Sydney University is renowned for its excellence in sustainability and innovation. The establishment of this campus will position Uttar Pradesh as a leader in global education.
Role of Greater Noida Authority
Naveen Kumar Singh, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of the Greater Noida Authority, confirmed the allocation of a seven-acre plot near D Park in Knowledge Park-5 for the university. He stated, “This project is a significant step toward transforming Greater Noida into a hub of international education and innovation.”
This initiative is expected to elevate the region's global stature and provide unparalleled opportunities for students and industries alike.
