Garmin Rolls Out Major Feature Update: Check If Your Device Made the List

Garmin has begun rolling out a significant feature update for several of its popular fitness wearables and bike computers. The company is expanding advanced training tools, improved health metrics, and smarter everyday functions across eligible devices. The update is being delivered globally in phases starting this week.


Enhanced Health Monitoring Tools Introduced

One of the most notable additions in this update is Garmin’s upgraded health insights. Users on supported devices can now access improved Body Battery analysis, more granular sleep tracking, and better stress monitoring. Garmin’s revamped algorithms deliver deeper context on recovery trends, enabling athletes to fine-tune rest and training days.


Performance and Training Features Expanded

Garmin has added enhanced coaching and activity analytics to select Forerunner, Fēnix, Epix, and Enduro models. This includes refined Training Readiness scores, updated Power Guide features for runners and cyclists, and expanded Race Adaptive Strategies designed to support long-distance athletes.
Cyclists using compatible Edge units also gain more precise climbing insights and adaptive performance metrics during rides.


Smartwatch Experience Gets Smoother and More Interactive

Smartwatch-oriented improvements include faster menu transitions, richer notifications, and updated widgets for weather, calendar, and heart rate. Some Venu and Vivoactive models are receiving better interface animations and expanded watch face customization tools.
Garmin has also improved Bluetooth stability, making syncing with Garmin Connect noticeably faster for many users.


Safety and Tracking Enhancements Rolled Out

Several devices are receiving upgraded safety features, including more reliable Incident Detection, improved LiveTrack accuracy, and clearer emergency alert prompts. These updates aim to make outdoor activities safer for runners, hikers, and cyclists.

Garmin’s rollout covers a mix of high-end and mainstream models. Devices confirmed to receive some or all of the new features include:

  • Fēnix 7 Series

  • Epix (Gen 2)

  • Forerunner 255 / 265 / 955 / 965 series

  • Venu 3 and select Venu 2 models

  • Enduro 2

  • Approach S70 (selected features)

  • Edge 540 / 840 / 1040 series
