Reliance Jio made a significant announcement at the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025 by launching the JioBharat Safety Net Phones, a new line of feature phones designed for the elderly and dependents. This move aligns with Jio’s mission to make digital technology accessible and secure for all age groups, particularly those less familiar with smartphones.
Built for Simplicity and Security
The JioBharat Safety Net phones feature a large keypad, bright display, and voice-assisted navigation, ensuring effortless usability for senior citizens. The devices also come with emergency SOS buttons, allowing users to send instant alerts with location sharing to selected contacts or emergency services.
Health and Safety Features Integrated
Jio has included health monitoring tools such as heart rate and step count tracking, along with fall detection sensors that can automatically trigger emergency notifications. The phone also supports medication reminders and connects seamlessly with JioHealth and JioCare services.
Strong Connectivity with Jio’s 4G Network
The Safety Net Phones are powered by Jio’s nationwide 4G network, ensuring stable voice and data connectivity even in remote areas. Users can also access JioPay, JioCinema, and JioSaavn Lite, bringing entertainment and digital payments within reach of first-time mobile users.
Affordable Pricing and Accessibility
Keeping affordability in focus, Jio has priced the JioBharat Safety Net phones under ₹1,500, with optional low-cost data plans tailored for senior citizens. The devices will be available both online and across Jio retail outlets nationwide starting mid-November 2025.
Bridging the Digital Divide
Through this initiative, Jio aims to empower India’s aging population, enabling them to stay connected, informed, and safe in an increasingly digital ecosystem. The launch underscores Jio’s broader vision of “Digital India for All”, reinforcing its leadership in affordable connectivity solutions.
