Lava Agni 4 5G Spotted on BIS Website, India Launch Imminent Next Month

Indian smartphone brand Lava appears ready to expand its 5G lineup, as its upcoming Lava Agni 4 5G has been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification website. The listing, coming nearly a month before its expected debut, indicates that the device’s launch in India is imminent. The Agni 4 5G will succeed the Agni 3, which debuted earlier this year with impressive performance and affordability.

Certification Suggests Imminent Market Arrival

The BIS listing, carrying model number Lava LZX406, confirms that the smartphone is in its final stages of approval for release in India. BIS certification often precedes official announcements, meaning that Lava could unveil the device as early as November 2025. While the listing does not reveal full specifications, it strongly hints that the device is production-ready and set to hit the Indian market soon.

Expected Specifications and Design

Based on leaks and early reports, the Lava Agni 4 5G is expected to feature a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering a smooth visual experience. It may be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone is also rumored to run on Android 15 out of the box, ensuring an optimized and modern user interface.

Camera and Battery Details

Lava is reportedly focusing on camera improvements with the Agni 4 5G. The device may come with a 64MP primary sensor, accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, users could get a 32MP selfie camera housed in a centered punch-hole cutout. Powering the device might be a 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support, promising an ideal balance between endurance and quick refueling.

Expected Price and Competition

The Lava Agni 4 5G is expected to be priced around ₹18,000–₹20,000 in India, placing it in the competitive mid-range 5G smartphone segment. It will compete directly with models from iQOO, Realme, and Motorola. Lava’s continued focus on “Made in India” manufacturing and value-driven features may help it strengthen its position in the domestic market.

Launch Timeline and Market Strategy

If the BIS certification timeline is any indicator, Lava could make an official announcement by mid-November 2025, followed by open sales later that month. The Agni 4 5G is expected to be available both online and offline through major retail channels. Lava’s strategy to blend local production, 5G performance, and affordability continues to resonate strongly among Indian consumers seeking reliable smartphones under ₹20,000.
