Nothing Phone 3 Leak Hints at 50MP Periscope Camera for Next-Level Zoom

Nothing, the tech startup led by Carl Pei, is reportedly gearing up to make a big leap in the smartphone camera department with its upcoming Phone 3. According to new leaks and industry insiders, the device could debut with a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, a first for the brand and a feature typically seen in flagship-grade devices.

Zooming Into the Future
The inclusion of a periscope lens would allow the Nothing Phone 3 to offer optical zoom capabilities far beyond its predecessors, with improved clarity and stability at longer ranges. This could position the Phone 3 as a serious contender in the premium photography segment, competing with devices from Samsung, Google, and OnePlus.

A Premium Photography Experience
The rumored 50MP periscope camera is expected to complement a triple rear camera setup, possibly including an upgraded main sensor and ultra-wide shooter. The periscope unit will likely support advanced image processing features such as hybrid zoom, AI-based stabilization, and enhanced night photography.

Design and Launch Expectations
While the design language is expected to retain the transparent aesthetic iconic to the Nothing brand, the internals are likely to receive a significant boost. The Phone 3 may feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, up to 12GB RAM, and Nothing OS 3.0 based on Android 15. An official launch is anticipated in Q3 2025, possibly during a dedicated Nothing keynote event.

What This Means for the Market
If the leak proves accurate, the Phone 3 could be the company's most premium and photography-focused smartphone to date. By entering the flagship camera race, Nothing may be signaling a shift from mid-range experimentation to serious competition in the upper-tier Android space.
