Chaitanya Gunupudi is an independent researcher and IT Platform Senior Cloud Engineer at the University of Maryland Research Center. He holds dual master’s degrees in Information Systems Technologies and Cybersecurity from the University of Maryland and has embarked on a PhD in Information Systems with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence, expected to be completed by 2028.

His pioneering work spans AI data governance, secure cloud architectures, and cybersecurity infrastructure, alongside automation frameworks that have transformed operations at the University of Maryland Research Center. His innovations have generated measurable national and global impact—from advancing transportation and dining systems to improving registry services, research policies, and enterprise-wide digital transformation. By integrating Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, cybersecurity policy standardization, and intuitive user interface design, Chaitanya is driving the next wave of intelligent and secure digital ecosystems.

With over a decade of expertise as both a cloud engineer and AI/ML researcher, Chaitanya has been instrumental in LLMOps, predictive analytics, scalable AI architectures, and AI-driven business transformation. His research focuses on improving efficiency and reliability of large-scale AI systems, enabling governments, universities, and enterprises to harness AI responsibly and effectively.

A published researcher and international speaker, Chaitanya has served as a judge for global hackathons, session chair at international conferences, ACM reviewer, and peer reviewer for leading journals. He also contributes as an MIET member, Oracle AI Fusion and AWS Solutions Architect certified professional, and creator of podcasts, learning platforms, and summer school courses that inspire the next generation of AI innovators.
