I’m Ayush Sharma, a tech enthusiast from India with a passion for solving real-world problems through technology. My curiosity led me to pursue a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology.
 

Early Days and Building Experience
From my early days, I’ve been involved in a variety of impactful projects and internships:

• Handwritten Text Recognition with BT Hustlers.
• Medicine Analysis using NLP  at Medlr, working on clustering and analyzing over 697,620 medicines.
• Vector-Borne Disease Project  at CIS IT Solutions Pvt Ltd.
• A Blockchain-based Custom Clearance Solution for international trade, which resulted in my first research publication selected among the top 20% at ICDAM 2023 Read more here.
   

Breaking Into Open Source
My open-source journey began with a spark — participating in Hacktoberfest 2023. It was there I made my first major contribution to SuperAGI. This opened the door to a life-changing opportunity: the Linux Foundation Mentorship Program (LFX’23). Under the guidance of my mentor Choonho Son, I worked on Cloudforet plugin development, gaining invaluable experience and paving the way for future success.
 

Achieving GSoC 2024
Following my success with LFX, I applied to Google Summer of Code (GSoC) 2024 and was thrilled to be selected under the UC OSPO. My project focuses on building custom embeddings for medicines and developing clustering algorithms for medicine analysis, using PolyPhy/Polyglot, which eventually resulted to Mediglot.
 

The Journey Continues
Open-source has been a key part of my journey, helping me grow, collaborate with brilliant minds, and constantly learn.
 

What’s Next?
I believe in giving back to the community that has given me so much. I am committed to continuing my open-source contributions, mentoring aspiring developers, and exploring new horizons in the tech world.
